Area-I, Inc. is a metro-Atlanta-based company dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft systems designed for use by the United States Armed Forces. We specialize in the development of unmanned aircraft systems that eject from host platforms or modular launch systems. These platforms are designed to meet the specific needs of our customers where we design, build, test, and ultimately deliver unique solutions to the customer. Area-I’s customers include the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and NASA.
This position involves working in a multi-disciplinary environment on the design, integration, and flight testing of advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. We are seeking electrical engineers that enjoy leading full life-cycle development of avionic systems and supporting equipment from conceptualization through production.
Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Secret-Level or greater Security Clearance.

5+ years of relevant experience
B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
Drive reliable design choices and improve validation test planning and assemblies.
Develop reliability test methods to build in and validate that the requirements are met.
Analyze usage and environmental conditions of batteries in order to improve requirement setting, design, and testing methods.
Provide technical expertise for various battery technologies.
Design of avionics power system delivery, battery packs, and supporting equipment.
Create Fault Trees and reliability block diagrams to assess system reliability.
Develop innovative ways for improving battery pack design and production efficiency.
Continuously report on technological advances that would support improved mission capabilities.
Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuous improvement.
Experience working with high voltage electronics.
Knowledge of methods to design-in reliability for electronics
Understanding of reliability monitoring metrics and reliability KPIs.
Experience with Quality Assurance documentation
Experience developing checklists, technical drawings, and documentation
Willing to work under tight deadlines
Must be a team player
Experience modeling in SolidWorks
Proficient in soldering
